Queens of the Queens Head
Thank you to Mike and the South London Punk Collective for putting a fantastic gig last night. It was great to play at a gig with almost all females on stage. Let’s do it again soon!
Today we had a fun pre-gig practice with Mike (Dinosaur Skull) who is standing in for Tabi on drums at the Queens Head tomorrow. We are so excited about this gig, we’ve been playing gigs for almost 23 years and for most of that we’ve been the ‘token girls’ in a man’s domain. This is the first time we have played on such a female centric line up (Mike will be the only man on stage all night). 23 years ago we could only dream of this line up happening. Mike organised this gig, and when he was choosing the bands for the night he said that it didn’t hit him until the line up was fixed that he would be the only man on stage all night, and he said that he wants to wear a ‘token male’ T-shirt to the gig, (so I drew him wearing it).
Rabies Babies are playing at 8pm, so please come early!
We are playing with the fantastic Shooting Daggers, Comeback Clit and Dinosaur Skull on Saturday 29th January at the Queens Head in Brixton.
It’s £5 (pay cash on the door – old style)
Scroll down to check out videos from Shooting Daggers, Comeback Clit and Dinosaur Skull.
Big thank you to everyone who came along to the gig last night. Massive thanks to Kev & crew at the Anchor. It was so good to have a party again.
If anyone videoed us, especially that song ‘Jonny Coalboat’s Blackout Blues’ (for the french film), please can you let us know, cos we’d love to use it as the video for our song to put in the film. We’ll post it up on our website when it’s finished and we’ll get you a beer.
Girlz Disorder Vol 1
In September Girlz Disorder Vol 1 compilation album was released. The album features 24 all female bands from 15 countries, and we feel honoured to be included amongst so many fantastic bands from all over the world. Over the last few weeks on our social media we have been posting about each of the other 23 bands on the compilation. The entire list of bands, with photographs and videos, plus links to their social media and bandcamps are now up on our website here. Have a listen to the album, and explore more of each band’s music and give them some likes or follows while you are there.
